Things to see and do

Sibu is a good place to go snorkeling and diving. While the visibility is not always excellent, divers can encounter giant dams, cockles, parrot fish, butterfly fish or sea horses.

Angling is one of the most popular activities. Although fishing, collecting coral and littering are strictly prohibited within two nautical miles of the island, fishing boat excursions to Unjang and Kelong visits are offered by some resorts.

Jungle trekking trails take around 15-20 minutes and while you will not need special clothing or equipment, a pair of comfortable shoes and an insect-repellent is a must.

Resorts on Sibu are closed during the peak of the Monsoon season (November to February) as the area experiences strong winds and a lot of rain.
