Johor’s best dive site!

With only 300 inhabitants and about 70km from Mersing, this little island is unknown to many Malaysians, still both Aur and Dayang Islands attract many foreign tourists in search for amazing diving spots. The crystal clear water allows you to see the enchanting colourful marine life from the boat.

There are about 20 dive sites in Aur. The most popular are Rayners Rock, Lang Island, Turtle Bay, Pinang Island and the Pinnacles. Most of the dive operators do not go to Pinang Island and The Pinnacles because of the distance. Lang Island is good for night dives.

Depth ranges from 7m to 67m with an average visibility about 15-25 metres.
Diving season is between April and October, although the best time for sighting Manta-Rays is from September to mid-November.

Getting there

There are two ways to get to Aur Island: either from Tanjung Leman or from Mersing.

The boat trip usually takes between 4 and 5 hours and most operators prefer to depart late in the evening and arrive early next morning.
